2026 Royal Mint Tudor Beasts Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin

The 2026 Royal Mint Tudor Beasts Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin is the latest release in the prestigious Tudor Beasts series, honouring the heraldic guardians that stood proudly at Hampton Court Palace during the reign of Henry VIII. Struck in fine 999.9 gold, this investment-grade coin combines historical significance with exceptional craftsmanship, making it a sought-after addition for both investors and collectors.

Design and Symbolism

The reverse, designed by David Lawrence, features the Lion of England – a symbol of courage, strength and royal authority – standing proudly with regal presence. Each detail of the lion has been brought to life with the Royal Mint’s renowned artistry, celebrating one of the most enduring icons of heraldry.

The obverse bears the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings, further enhancing its collectability as part of the first generation of UK coins to feature the new monarch.

Investment Appeal

As with previous Tudor Beasts releases, the Queen’s Lion continues the Royal Mint’s tradition of pairing exceptional bullion quality with historic storytelling. With global demand for limited-mintage bullion coins, the 2026 Queen’s Lion offers an attractive balance of intrinsic gold value and long-term numismatic potential. Lock in the introductory low premiums when the coin is first released, as similar limited edition Royal Mint coins such as the Queen’s Beasts gold coins have soared in value due to high demand and very limited supply.
