Lincoln Eagle 0.5oz Silver Coin

The Lincoln Eagle 0.5oz Silver Coin is a 2026 silver release celebrating Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.

Issued during the year of America’s 250th anniversary of Independence, the coin forms part of a collection examining the leaders, symbols and ideals that have shaped the United States.

The Lincoln Eagle contains 0.5 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, carries a $1 denomination and is officially issued under the authority of Ascension Island.

The Story Behind the Lincoln Eagle

Few American presidents have had a greater impact on the course of the nation than Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln led the United States through the Civil War, fought to preserve the Union and became inseparably associated with emancipation and the abolition of slavery.

More than 150 years after his death, his image remains embedded within American culture and coinage.

The Lincoln Eagle uses that extraordinary historical legacy as the foundation for a modern silver coin combining the image of Lincoln with the American eagle.

Abraham Lincoln and America’s 250th Anniversary

The 250th anniversary of American Independence in 2026 provides the wider historical setting for the Lincoln Eagle.

Although Lincoln lived almost a century after the Declaration of Independence, his presidency became pivotal to determining whether the nation created in 1776 would survive.

His inclusion therefore extends the collection’s narrative beyond America’s founding and towards the leaders who subsequently shaped and preserved the United States.
