Aztec Calendar silver coin
This huge 1 kilo silver coin is produced by Banco De Mexico. The coin contains 32.15oz of 999 purity silver, but it’s the stunning detail of the Aztec Calendar Sun Stone that really makes this collectible silver coin desirable. Such beautiful detail simply isn’t possible on regular 1oz size coins due to lack of space.
The coin comes complete with authenticity certificate and unique serial number, a laser-etched wooden display case, literature covering the history of the Aztec calender and even a magnifying glass to enjoy the coin’s minutiae. Mintage is strictly limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide, making it hugely appealing to silver coin collectors.
Coin design and features
The obverse of the coin features the Mexican National Shield in the centre, encircled by the wording “Estados Unidos Mexicanos”, meaning United Mexican States. Forming an outer circle to this image are 10 carrying images of Mexican coats of Arms throughout the ages.
The reverse of the silver coin depicts the main Aztec calendar sun stone design, along with the face value ($100), silver purity and confirmation of it’s 1kg weight.
