Six Decades of 007: Bond of the 1990s 2025 1oz Gold Coin
Celebrate one of cinema’s most iconic franchises with the Six Decades of 007: Bond of the 1990s 2025 1oz Gold Coin, issued by The Royal Mint. This 4th release marks a new chapter in the Six Decades of 007 coin collection, paying tribute to the actors, films and unforgettable moments that defined James Bond through the 1990s.
Design and Theme
This coin celebrates the James Bond films of the 1990s, a defining decade that introduced audiences to Pierce Brosnan as the suave yet daring 007. Brosnan’s era combined sharp sophistication with blockbuster action, re-energising the franchise through classics such as GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and The World Is Not Enough (1999).
At the heart of the design is the Q-Branch speedboat, immortalised from its adrenaline-fuelled chase sequence in The World Is Not Enough. The inclusion of this sleek vessel captures the spirit of innovation and cutting-edge gadgetry that came to define Bond’s adventures during the decade. More than a tribute to the films, the coin is a celebration of the era that brought Bond’s thrilling exploits to a new generation of fans worldwide.
The obverse bears the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings, marking this issue as part of the first generation of UK commemorative coins of the new reign.
