    Our Expert Opinion

One of the most liquid and globally renowned foreign silver coins, the Silver Eagle is a popular choice amongst investors. Mass production and no frills, lends itself to a great value coin with low premiums. This appeals to those seeking value for money, while maintaining liquidity and divisibility.

If you’re seeking a coin with a little more rarity of collectors value, than you may want to consider some of the Royal Mint’s popular Lunar or Queen’s Beasts limited issue series. They have the added advantage of being tax efficient as UK legal tender coins, but you will pay a premium for the privilege of owning a rarer coin.

Buying silver Britannias can strike a good balance between the two. This offers low prices but is also tax free, and designs are updated frequently, lending coins to be a little more collectible too.
