2022 Gold Sovereign tube of 25 coins

A full sealed allocation of 25 x Brand new Gold Sovereign bullion coins in an official Royal Mint Sovereign coin tube. Each gold coin weighs 7.98g with a pure gold content of 7.32g each. The total pure gold content of the full tube is 183g, stored in a safe and convenient way. This is a cheaper way of buying a tube of 25 Sovereigns. If you have more capital a 1KG gold bar is a good alternative, it’s amazing to think that 25 sovereigns are only 18.3% of the weight of a 1KG bar!

Each Sovereign features a face value of £1, deeming the coins legal tender, and therefore qualify as free from Capital Gains Tax. Combined with their low premiums, the tax free nature of the Sovereign ensures they’re the number one choice for UK investors. Buy these in confidence from Physical Gold Limited.

Coin design and details

The 2022 edition contains 7.988 grams of 22 carat gold.

The obverse of this coin features the familiar fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

This was designed by world-renowned artist Jody Clark. In this design, the Queen is featured in the King George IV Diadem and Diamond Jubilee drop pearl earrings.

Reverse – Royal Coat of Arms

For the first time since the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee back in 2012, the reverse of the 2022 Sovereign features an alternative design to George slaying the Dragon.

The Royal Coat of Arms adorns the reverse, in celebration of the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. This in itself, should make the coin more collectable than usual.

The central shield design is split into quarters, representing the symbols of Ireland, Scotland and England. Wales was already integral to England before the Act of Union.

The bottom left quadrant features an Irish harp, the upper right the Scottish royal lion symbol, and the other two quadrants display the 3 guardian Lion of England.

On the right hand side of the shield stands a chained Unicorn of Scotland and on the left stands the Lion of England. The unicorn is chained as myth states that a free Unicorn was a dangerous beast.
